Feeling Disgusted That Make Good Health

See dung, carrion or spoiled food triggers disgust and want to vomit. Often cringe like that just good for health because it motivates behavior to avoid infection.
Disgusted is the behavior of the body that are reactive to prevent. Feelings of disgust for both the body because it can prevent the onset of more severe health problems, such as contracting germs.
"Disgusted is a form of precautionary measures to protect us from the signs of threat, such as disease," said Val Curtis, from the UK's London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, as reported from Newscientist, Monday (05/03/2010).
When looking at the nasty things the body will feel disgusted as a nervous response from the brain that there is a potential threat of bacteria if not avoided.
"The feeling of disgust came before it comes in contact with the bacteria that prevent the body from infection, and the body will usually respond by vomiting or nausea," said Val Curtis as reported from Medicalhypotheses.
When feelings of disgust appeared, the hormone most involved according to researchers is serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) that associates the feeling of disgust for the immune system. These hormones also cause a person who feels disgusted to be sick.
As reported by the wellbeingandhealth.net, the following four reasons why disgust is good, namely:
1. Disgusted warned that we ingest something that is incompatible with our bodies
By the time we swallow something that is incompatible with our body, usually the body will react nausea. For example, when we do not like a disgusting food, although with eyes closed, then the body will still react nausea.
2. Contempt reminiscent of something dangerous
Something dangerous and carry diseases can also cause a sense of disgust, such as blood, feces or vomit. "Disgusted is an evolutionary response to dangerous goods," said Lance Workman, a psychologist at Cardiff University.
3. Teaches contempt for the wise to the body

4. Disgust is a powerful motivator for positive change
